Metal Ceramic Crowns(PFM)
PFM crowns are made of two components with the core constructed out of metal. It is the inside part of the crown (also known as the substructure), which is placed and cemented on the tooth and a ceramic (porcelain) coating which is applied on top of the metal base crown, which has tooth-like color and shape. They are more indicated for non-aesthetic areas of the mouth because they are not as aesthetic as compared with all-ceramic crowns.
